1. You will own a truly unique item
Scarcity creates value. In Cambridge, one of the major attractions of bespoke joinery is that you will receive something that is totally unique. Nobody else will have it. The more unique your home is, the more valuable it becomes or it will be easier to sell at least. However, that is looking into the future.
Currently, you get to enjoy your surroundings and bask in your home’s glory. You will also feel much better about those pieces of furniture and other items that you have specifically chosen for both aesthetic and practical purposes. The reason why you selected them was that you liked them. They are not things that you need to live with the way you do with some things associated with a property. Choose something you like and suits your lifestyle and home and then have it created and installed.
Consider this. Maybe you like to have a custom-created table that has specific height specifications due to you having body pain. We are able to do that. Maybe you would like to have an ergonomic chair for the same reason. We can do this also. Perhaps you want a secret shelf or a hidden cupboard. With a joiner, the choice is all yours since we can do so many things!
Getting something that is pre-made that suits both your home and body while looking great still can be quite a difficult task. However, not for an experienced and skilled bespoke joiner.
2. Quality and price
We are willing to admit that our Cambridge bespoke joinery costs more than items bought in a shop. We prioritise quality while the focus of shops such as Ikea is on price.
The price is lower because they have been able to perfect the process of making less expensive furniture. For example, labour, delivery, and materials are all highly price optimised. This sacrifices the longevity and quality of your joinery.
That translates to your joinery being used in daily life. Pre-made furniture is often easily disfigured and stained, which leaves you with a product that is unsatisfactory. This can be avoided when you have something made to last. If you are interested in upgrading your kitchen, I would recommend researching the benefits and cost-effectiveness of having a timber kitchen.
Also, if something happens to an authentic item, less intrinsic value will be lost. It will still hold value because it is high quality and unique – despite being chipped. On the other hand, an Ikea item will look defeated, tacky, and cheap. Everything that we create is designed to age gracefully and made to last.
That gives you a long-lasting product. It may possibly last for generations and decades whereas for store-bought items made out of cheap materials there is not a lot of hope.
3. Spacing problems
Your rooms are often not shaped the way you want them to be. You may have weird pockets of space or alcoves that are strangely shaped. That is your chance to fill up the space with worthwhile things. Something pre-made will not really help you with this.
However, a piece of bespoke joinery can fit into those gaps so they are useful. A loft conversion is one example where the wardrobes, cupboards, stairs, doors, and flooring must be made to measure from scratch. Another example might be a home office that you want to upgrade and make changes to how the room feels. In a custom and bespoke way.
4. Protects you afterwards
After your project is completed, we will get back in contact with you to ensure that everything is the way it is supposed to be. You are buying a relationship as much as you are buying joinery. We can help if you have any problems in the future.
We concede there is a place ad time for pre-made wardrobes, cupboards, chairs, and doors. Even things such as decorative items, ornaments, UPVC windows, and kitchens have their time. Price is the main reason.
